Traditional Dress Of Uttarakhand
Uttarakahnd The Dev Bhumi is situated in mountanious region of himalaya and also popular as tourist place.Uttarakhand is home of Gadwalis and Kumaon is depending on the which part of Uttarakhand they belong to. It has a rich culture of which, music and dance are an integral part.Various languages are spoken here like Garhwali, Kumaoni,and even Hindi. Silver and gold jewellery is a significant part of traditional Uttarakhand . If you visit Uttarakhand, you will find women wearing gold kundal often having multiple piercings in their ears. Uttarakhand people from different ethnic backgrounds like Rajputs, Brahmins and tribal population like Tharu, Jaunsari, Bhotia, Almodiya ,among others.

Women's Traditional Attire
In the garhwal region of this northen state women usually wear Sari tide in a particular way the Pallu going from the front and knotted on the shoulder with a waist band made of clothes.this is considered convenient for women as it makes it eassier to carry food and does not interfare thier work on the fields. Earlier the sari worn with a sleeves to protect the women from the cold they also don a headscraf scarf to protect their hair from damage and carry the harvest.
Men's Traditional Attire
Garhwali mens usually wear Kurta and Pajama and chudidar depending on thier age this is the most common attire in the community this is the paired with a topi by young or pagdi by the older men to protect themsleves from the cold. A lot of mens also started wearing suits after the influence of the british the fabric used for the clothes differ according to the regions weather conditions wool in colder region and cotton in warmer region.
